Forza Motorsport Week in Review 9-4-15
What a week! I don’t have a big preamble this week because there’s so much huge Forza news to get to. So, you know how we do it, let’s dive right in!
Forza Motorsport 6 Demo Is Live
Have you played the Forza Motorsport 6 Demo yet? If not, stop reading this right now. Now, go and download the demo on Xbox One! After all, it’s free! And it’s amazing! And it’s more Forza! Okay, I’ll stop yelling.
Anyway, the Forza Motorsport 6 demo is now out and gives you a fantastic look at what to expect when the full game launches on September 15 (or, if you’re an Ultimate Edition owner, on September 10!) In addition to a glimpse of the new Career mode, you’ll be able to play a group of custom Rivals events, including an event that will qualify you for our “#ForzaFuel” challenge (appropriately, the event is called the “Forza Fuel Challenge”). The challenge is a tricky one, and features the Audi S1 on the surprisingly fast and unforgiving Lime Rock Park. The top times in this event will be eligible to win a trip to the Circuit of the Americas track in Austin, TX to be part of a very special weekend of Forza awesomeness. Check out the Forza Fuel Web site for more details and good luck on setting your best time!
Forza Motorsport 6 Commercial
If you’re watching TV here in the States (and elsewhere) in the next few weeks, chances are you will see the Forza Motorport 6 commercial. If you can’t wait until you’re in front of your TV, here’s the full 90-sec commercial in all its retro glory:
Recognize all those old-school racing games? The ad features the “Forza Motorsport 6” cover car, the 2017 Ford GT, racing through the pixelated land of (in order of appearance) Gran Trak 10 (Atari, 1974), RC Pro Am (Rare, 1987), Pole Position (Bandai Namco, 1982), Chase HQ (Taito, 1988), and Ridge Racer (Bandai Namco, 1993).
To achieve this effect the actual car was placed on a proprietary full-size hydraulic dynamometer-like device called a NAC Rig and shot on set in studio in Southern California. While on set, tracking markers were used in camera so that shots of the real car fit perfectly into the simulated environment of the earlier generation games.

Fast & Furious Pack & Dom’s Charger
Alongside the announcement of the Forza 6 demo, we also dropped the car list for the Fast & Furious Car Pack, which will be arriving with the launch of Forza Motorsport 6. Owners of the Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition of Forza 6 will get this ten-car pack for free; everyone else will be able to purchase the pack separately. The full list of cars:
- 1968 Dodge Charger Fast & Furious Edition
- 1969 Dodge Charger Fast & Furious Edition
- 1970 Ford Escort RS1600 Fast & Furious Edition
- 2014 Terradyne Gurkha LAPV Fast & Furious Edition
- 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Fast & Furious Edition
- 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS Fast & Furious Edition
- 1995 Toyota Supra RZ Fast & Furious Edition
- 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R Fast & Furious Edition
- 2002 Nissan Fairlady Z Fast & Furious Edition
- 2001 Honda S2000 Fast & Furious Edition
We noticed some confusion about whether or not “Dom’s Charger” was in the pack. To clarify: Dom’s Charger (the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T Fast & Furious Edition) is available exclusively to folks who purchase “Furious 7” film or the “Furious 7” movie bundle on Xbox Video. Apologies for the confusion earlier in the week but I wanted to make sure we set the record straight on how fans can get this car.

Forza Rewards Update
In August, Forza Rewards went weekly – updating with new rewards each Friday; in addition, the reward credit amounts doubled in August. Now that September is here, I wanted to let you know that the “2x credits reward” has officially ended. However, we will be continuing the weekly cadence for Rewards. You’ll be able to redeem your Forza Rewards each Friday by going to either the Forza Rewards Web site or going to the Forza Hub Xbox One app. As always, Forza Rewards is a great way to fill your coffers in all Forza games, including Forza Motorsport 6, so you can afford to continue buying awesome cars for your garage!
Finally this week, we take a brief tour back to Forza Motorsport 5, with this amazing oil painting created by artist and Forza fan Carlos Camargo, featuring the Forza 5 cover car, the McLaren P1. Here’s what Carlos said about his artwork:
I have been working on the McLaren P1 since May 23rd for at least 2 hours every Saturday. That means that the time it took to finish has to be at least 30 hours of work, although I am sure it is greater than that since I did work from time to time on it other days. Overall, I am just happy to have finished it in time for the launch of Forza 6!
Amazing work Carlos! Now, what do we need to do to get a Ford GT painting started… ?
We’ll be live for an abbreviated version of #ForzaFriday today, broadcasting from 3-4 p.m. Pacific tomorrow on our Twitch channel. We hope to see you on the show! Until then, enjoy the last weekend before Forza 6 is unleashed on the world!
