Forza Week in Review 6-1-18
Before we dive into today’s edition of the Week in Review, I wanted to give readers a heads up about a new streaming show we’re launching next week. The next update for Forza Motorsport 7 will launch on Tuesday, June 5 and we’ve got a bunch of great stuff coming to Forza fans with this update, including the cars of the Hoonigan Car Pack, which will be available for purchase and included as part of the Forza 7 Car Pass.
In celebration of all the good stuff coming in June, on Monday, June 4 we’re kicking off “Forza Monthly” -- a new streaming show that will originate from our broadcast studio in downtown Seattle. Monday’s inaugural show will take viewers through the great stuff coming to Forza Motorsport 7 in June. We’ll be broadcasting on the official Forza Mixer and Twitch channels, and we’ll be joined by special guests from Turn 10. We’re very excited about this new broadcast and can’t wait show off what awaits Forza fans in June (and, perhaps, beyond!)
Now, on with the Week in Review!
It’s almost time to bid a fond farewell to our IndyCar Challenge events in Forza Motorsport 7. With last weekend’s running of the Indy 500, the drivers are moving on to the rest of their real-world racing season. The competition over the past few weeks has been fantastic, resulting in our most popular Bounty Hunter event to date.
The IndyCar Challenge events ends on June 7 and, unless any of the IndyCar drivers make a final leaderboard stand before then, here are the final standings of our IndyCar drivers across both events:
Indy Brickyard Event
Josef Newgarden (GT: JNRACERTPX2) – 38.287
James Hinchcliffe (GT: Hinchcliffe5) – 38.312
Conor Daly (GT: Kart2221) – 38.493
Robert Wickens (GT: Wickens6) – No current time
Indy Grand Prix Event
Josef Newgarden (GT: JNRACERTPX2) – 1:09.869
James Hinchcliffe (GT: Hinchcliffe5) – 1:11.539
Conor Daly (GT: Kart2221) – 1:11.530
Robert Wickens (GT: Wickens6) – No current time
You know the old saying, “When one door closes, another door opens”? Even though the IndyCar Challenge events are closing soon, we’ve got another Bounty Hunter event that’s just about to open…
ForzaRC John Hindhaugh Le Mans Challenge
You’ve listened to him as the broadcast voice of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. You’ve watched as he’s called ForzaRC Wednesday Showdown races with his trademark blend of electric excitement and pinpoint accuracy. Now, here’s your chance to take on “The Voice of Le Mans” John Hindhaugh in our next Bounty Hunter event, which begins on Wednesday, June 6.
The track? Le Mans (naturally). The car? Well here’s where things get interesting. We’re not assigning a car to this event – instead we’re assigning an entire division, specifically the Forza GT Division. The Gamertag to follow? makem73.
Naturally we’ll have some great rewards to give away in this Bounty Hunter event, including stuff never before seen. Check it out:
Beat John Hindhaugh’s final time: Referee Driver Gear
Top 10th percentile on leaderboard: 50,000 credits
Top 25th percentile: 2012 MINI John Cooper Works Forza Edition
Top 75th percentile: 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport 454 Forza Edition
Participation reward: 2008 BMW Z4 M Coupe
How will you stack up against the man who knows Le Mans like no one else on the planet? Find out when the John Hindhaugh Le Mans Challenge begins on June 6!
Series 3 of our current Leagues season begins this weekend and I’ve got one particular event in mind that I can’t wait to check out. If, like me, you love classic GT cars like the 1982 Ferrari #71 Ferrari France 512 BB/LM or the 1980 Lancia #31 Lancia Corse Beta Montecarlo Turbo, you’re going to be right at home with our simulation event in Series 3, which will star the cars of the GT Racing Reborn Division. Elsewhere, we’ve got a ghost series in the Sport Luxury Division, an event starring the 2001 Audi RS 4, and more. Here’s the list:
EVENT 01 – Ghost – Sport Luxury Division
EVENT 02 – Simulation – GT Racing Reborn
EVENT 03 – Spec Sim – 2001 Audi RS 4
EVENT 04 – Cosmetic – S Class Ford Models
ForzaRC Series 1 Playoffs Cars & Tracks
We’re two weeks away from the Forza Racing Championship Series 1 playoffs, which will be held in Seattle. If, like us, you’re looking forward to seeing how all the racing pans out, you can get a peek at the cars and tracks that our ForzaRC drivers will be tackling over at the GFinity ForzaRC page. There’s so much to look forward to for racing fans – with cars making their ForzaRC debut and some delicious car/track combinations that will test drivers and thrill viewers. I mean, the 1991 Mazda #55 Mazda 787B at Sebring is enough to get me excited, not to mention the 1979 BMW #6 BMW Motorsport M1 Procar at Suzuka or Catalunya… but an LMP race on the full Nürburgring!? The playoffs can’t get here fast enough!

Finally, tune in to our weekly episode of #ForzaFriday, which kicks off at 3 p.m. today on Mixer and Twitch.
