Forza Week in Review 3-17-17
Welcome to another edition of the Forza Week in Review, where we'll spend a few minutes (and a few hundred words or so) reflecting on the week that was in the world of Forza. We’re glad you’re here, now let’s get you caught up!
Forza 6 Update
On Tuesday we launched an update for Forza Motorsport 6, designed to correct an issue inadvertently introduced with February’s esports update in Forza 6. With the new update, players can now spectate in public lobbies without needing to first leave the lobby and re-enter. While we believe the issue has now been resolved, we’re keeping an eye on our dedicated support thread in the forums in case players see additional similar issues.
#Forzathon – A Shamrockin’ Good Time
There’s a festive vibe to this weekend’s #Forzathon lineup – we’re calling it “A Shamrockin’ Good Time” – and, yes, there’s a reason we’ve got a green car front and center in our promotional graphic. After all, March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day, right? We’re celebrating the luckiest day of the year by giving out a very special car, the 1972 Mercedes 300 SEL 6.3. Want to get your hands on this classic chunk of German luxury? Here’s how:
Yep, we’re making you work for this one a bit. Achieving 3 Stars on three separate PR Stunts isn’t exactly the Forza Horizon 3 equivalent to digging ditches, but it’s not a throwaway either. You’ve got to plan ahead and make sure you’ve got the right vehicle for the right events. I expect different drivers will be have very different approaches for how to make this work between speed cameras, drift zones, danger sign jumps, and so on… So, what’s your plan?
Cycled Production – Vote Now!
We’re planning another hopper update for Forza Motorsport 6 and we’re asking the Forza community for help. This is your final notice to put in your car and track combos that you’d like to see in a brand new multiplayer hopper that we’re aiming to put up soon. If you’ve got a favorite car/track lineup you’d like to see in our new hopper, let us know in our dedicated thread on the forums. We’ve already seen some interesting ideas posted so far and we’re eager to see more.
Now it’s time to take some time to enjoy two awesome community videos that caught our eye this week.
Attax Johnson’s Shifting Tutorial
If you’ve ever wondered a “cheap and easy” way to get faster in Forza, moving from automatic shifting to manual is a great first step. This week, Forza Racing Championship finalist and YouTuber Attax Johnson created a video breaking down that very topic. From showing off exactly how much time you can gain when in manual or, even better, manual with clutch, Johnson also breaks down the WRONG times to try and use manual with clutch (hint: car class matters). Check it out:
And now, as the Pythons might say, for something completely different:
Finding Horizon 2 Trailer

Our #ForzaFriday livestream starts today at 3 p.m. Pacific and we’ve got another full lineup coming for you. We’ll be ripping into the weekend’s #Forzathon events, going for that 300 SEL as our top priority, before moving on to our weekly Bucket List Challenge. After that we’ll be heading over to Forza Motorsport 6 for some multiclass racing and ending up with our traditional Random Ring Race. Last week we broke format a bit with the Ring Race, paying tribute to legendary F1 racer John Surtees -- who passed away last week -- by driving a carefully chosen car, the Honda RA300, which Surtees drove to victory in the 1967 Italian Grand Prix. Today we’ll head back to our random format, driving a brand new car in stock form on legendary Ring.
