Forza Week in Review 1-26-18
Welcome to the Week in Review. This week we’ve got news of the next evolution of the Xbox Game Pass, details on the new League season beginning soon in Forza Motorsport 7 as well as this weekend’s #Forzathon events in Forza Horizon 3. All that and more, so let’s dive right in!
Don Joewon Song’s Bucket List Bonanza
Happy Australia Day! Now that the enhanced version of Forza Horizon 3 for Xbox One X is available, there’s no better time than now to hop back into the Horizon Festival in Australia and experience all the amazing things the game has to offer (in native 4K no less!) If you’ve been looking to try out some of the amazing DLC cars, but don’t have the cash on hand for some of the cars, have no fear, Don Joewon Song is here!
The much beloved Forza community member has done the seemingly impossible: creating 125 individual Bucket List events showcasing all the DLC and #Forzathon reward cars in the game. Each event features a different DLC car (which are free in FH3) and gives players a full 30 minutes to explore Australia before the event ends. For instance, if you’re looking to try the 2017 Camaro ZL1 from the Duracell Car Pack, just head over to the Kiewa Valley Lake Bucket List Blueprint point. Naturally, you’ll need to friend request DJS to see the events in your game so what are you waiting for?

Xbox Game Pass
No doubt most of you saw the news of the expansion for Xbox Game Pass from earlier this week. If you missed it, here’s the details, directly quoted from Xbox’s own Phil Spencer:
Moving forward, we plan to release all new Xbox One exclusive games from Microsoft Studios into Xbox Game Pass on the same date as their global release. This means that when Sea of Thieves launches on March 20, it will be included in Xbox Game Pass to all members.
As Phil explains, Xbox first party titles will be part of Xbox Game Pass going forward, including Forza games:
This plan to bring new games timed with their global release into Xbox Game Pass not only includes announced titles like Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3 but future unannounced games from Microsoft Studios including new iterations of our biggest Xbox One exclusive franchises such as Halo, Forza and Gears of War, on the same day they launch.

New League Season Begins!
A new League season kicks off in hours. We’re saying goodbye to the “New Year, New League” season and welcoming in “A Lovely League” (yep, that’s a Valentine’s Day pun). This season features four distinct events throughout the end of January and most of February – you can preview all four series now in Forza Motorsport 7 if you want to see everything that’s coming your way. Here we’ll focus on the first series, which will feature a mix of class muscle, prototypes, and more.
Series 1, which continues through February 3, features three events:
Event 1 – Ghost – Classic Street Muscle Division – Roaring giants like the 1970 Buick GSX and the 1973 Holden HQ Monaro GTS 350 bring classic muscle showdowns to your favorite circuit.
Event 2 – Simulation – Prototype Group Racing – From the Chaparral 2E to the Ford #2 GT40 Mk II Le Mans, these feisty beasts will test every driver’s mettle.
Event 3 – Spec Ghost – Everyone’s competing in the 2016 Aston Martin Vantage in this spec event.
The Series 1 reward is a special Valentine’s Day Driver Gear suit, which will be gifted to players who participate in at least one event. We’ve got a great Season Reward too – everyone who participates in the “New Year, New League” season will receive the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Forza Edition.
We’ve got a new #Forzathon event up in Forza Motorsport 7 as of today. Check out the Forza World Tour Part 2 event now. Complete all the steps in this series and you can take home the 1932 Ford De Luxe Five-Window Coupe!
In addition, over in Forza Horizon 3, we’ve got another set of #Forzathon events live in the game now. This week’s theme is “Heritage of Speed” and we’ve got two Ford GT models up for grabs. Take a look:

If you’re planning on watching the race and want to get to know the teams, or you’re a Forza livery creator looking for some new ideas, don’t miss the official IMSA Spotters Guide, which is available for free download here.
Ford GT Breaking Records at VIR
We’ve got a lot of love for the Ford GT here at Turn 10. The Forza Motorsport 6 cover car doesn’t just live in our studio, it also continues to astound on the track. Road & Track recently took the GT out to Virginia International Raceway for a test run and ended up a setting a course record in the process. Here’s video from the record-setting test drive.
New Community Liaison Member
We’re welcoming a new member to the Community Support team this week. Chris Day has been with Microsoft for a few years now but joined Turn 10 this week to help as a Community Liaison, working alongside Nitro Glitter and SOY to help solve problems for Forza players. Here’s more from Chris in his own words:
Hi all! My name is Chris (GT: Zak TwoPunch)! I'm super excited to be here at Turn 10 and have the opportunity to work with such a passionate community. I've been working on various Microsoft products and teams over the 3 years that I've been here. Gaming has been an important part of my life since age 4, when my Mom bought me a SNES and Donkey Kong Country. These days I'm primarily a PC gamer, though I do dabble with all the other systems. I am also attending Full Sail University online, pursuing a degree in Game Design. When not working, gaming, or doing schoolwork, I love to spend time with my adorable Havamalt puppy that I would love to share pictures of to anyone willing to look.
Welcome to the team, Chris!
HMA – McLaren MP4-12C
This week, Heavy Metal Affliction takes a look at a car from one of Turn 10’s own. Art director Nic Johnson has completed his evolution into a true car guy with the purchase of his gorgeous 2012 McLaren MP4-12C. Check out the story to find out how Nic made the decision to pull the trigger on the 12C, as well as some gorgeous photography of the car itself.
We’ll be showing off the new #Forzathon event in Forza Motorsport 7 and racing with you in multiplayer in today’s episode of #ForzaFriday. The show begins at 3 p.m. on both Mixer and Twitch. See you then!
