Forza Motorsport Week in Review 12-18-15
Welcome to the final Week in Review of 2015! It’s hard to believe that we’re actually here – just over a year removed from last January’s reveal of Forza Motorsport 6, along with the Ford GT at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. So much has happened between the beginning of 2015 and, over the past few weeks, I’ve been reliving it all as I’ve been preparing our annual Year in Review recap, which will run next Friday on both FM.net and on Forza Hub next Friday. As always, it’s been great fun reminiscing about it all and I hope you all enjoy the feature. In addition, we’ll also have special year-end editions of Rear View Mirror and our annual Heavy Metal Affliction “Year in HMA Cars” coming up very soon as well.
In the meantime, let’s take one more look back in 2015 at the week that was!
GT350R Issues Addressed
This week we released a content update for Forza Motorsport 6 that addressed two issues in the game: first, an issue that was causing the game to crash for players who were using the 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R with a particular engine swap, and another issue that was causing a crash at the Forza Motorsport 6 loading screen for certain players. Our next major content update will be arriving in January alongside the next DLC Pack for Forza 6. Look for more details then.
‘All Forza 6 Cars’ Project Update
We continue to work on our “All Forza Motorsport 6 Cars” project. I’m happy to report that Ian on the Community Team finally has photos of all the cars turned in, named, and organized. The next step? Post those puppies! Over the coming weeks, Ian will be working to get the FM6 Cars Page filled out with gorgeous community-created Forzatography. I expect we’ll be able to show it off in the new year and be able to give a hearty shout-out to all the awesome Forza community members who contributed their time and talent to this mammoth undertaking. I can’t wait to show off the final result!
Vote for Forza 6 at IGN
Forza Motorsport 6 has been nominated as one of the Games of the Year on Xbox One by IGN. If you’re so inclined, head over to the site now and give Forza 6 a vote. The winners will be announced in January, so get your vote in now!
It’s not every day we interview one of the most famous and revered car personalities in the world but this week, we did just that. If you missed our Heavy Metal Affliction featuring a Q&A with Christian von Koenigsegg, you owe it to yourself to give it a read. The creator of the One:1 (available in this month’s Mobil 1 Car Pack) gives HMA some special insight into how he thinks of his role in the world of ultra-performance hypercars, talks about the history of the Koenigsegg, and describes just what it takes to make some of the fastest, and most expensive, cars in the world. Don’t miss it!

Here’s the contest schedule for January for both Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Horizon 2:

Holiday Bash Reminder
If you want in on the 2015 Holiday Bash, you’ve still got time! Simply post an original creation (livery or layer group) in the Holiday Bash thread in the forums, and you’re in and eligible for a special Holiday Bash gift car being created by Robin on the Community Team (I’ve seen it and it is legendary). The Bash stops accepting submissions on Dec. 21 so get your entry together ASAP!
Finally this week, Czech car manufacturer Škoda created a stir with the release of its own set of emojis – err ŠKODAJIS – this week, according to a story on Jalopnik. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to spend the rest of 2015 thinking about how I can turn in a future edition of the Week in Review using nothing but car-related emojis. Challenge accepted!
That about wraps it up for the final Week in Review of 2015. I’ll be hitting our official Twitch channel at 3 p.m. Pacific today for some #ForzaFriday celebration, where I’ll be showing off our holiday gift cars (these are separate from the Holiday Bash gift cars, but equally as sweet). Tune in to see what’s heading your way!
Next week: the 2015 Year in Review!
