Forza Motorsport Week in Review 11-26-14
Welcome to a special Wednesday edition of the Forza Motorsport Week in Review. We’re posting early this week because of the Thanksgiving holiday, which will see most of Turn 10 out of the office on Thursday and Friday. So let’s get to the Forza news before our four-day turkey coma begins!
Thanks a Million Rivals
Picture this, Thanksgiving fans. It’s an hour after the big meal. You’re bloated and possibly gassy. The Eagles have annihilated the Cowboys and you’re currently watching the Seahawks dismantle the 49ers by four touchdowns. You’re bored, and you’re looking for some thrills. So, why not play our limited time cross-game Forza Rivals event?
Known as “Thanks a Million”, this challenge will feature two Rivals event; one in Forza Horizon 2 and the other in Forza Motorsport 5, each featuring a different car to test your skill. The best part is there are multiple ways for you to win in-game credits. Simply setting a time in both events will earn you a small amount of credits. The top finisher in each event will receive 1 million credits in that game and the player with the best time across both events will win a further 1 million credits. In addition, one random player who has set a time in both events will also be the lucky recipient of 1 million credits. There are lots of ways to earn credits no matter your skill level, so give them a try before these events shut down on Monday, December 1.

Photo Contest Winners
Recently we sent out some special cars to Forza Community members. Last week all Forza Motorsport 5 players received the Xbox-themed Ford Falcon V8 car, to celebrate the return of Xbox to V8 Supercars. Before that, we sent out cars like the Boys & Girls Club Lamborghini’s designed by our own Ayo Jube, and our raven-themed Lambo designed by Robin on the community team. This week we wrapped up two photo contests, starring those B&GC Lambo’s as well as the raven-themed car. Congrats to swtluu21 and BadRiver, whose winning entries you can see below. Nice work!

Get a Clue
Next week, we’ll announce the next car pack for Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One. Until then, you can keep busy giving us your best guesses as to which cars will appear in the pack in our clue thread on the Forza forums. Run by our own johniwanna, the thread offers (often vague) clues for the cars in our upcoming pack. Sometimes you guys nail it, and other times well, you’re pretty far off. How will you do this month?
Look for the announcement of the December pack at 6 a.m. Pacific on December 2!
Forza Black Friday Sale
It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving Week without a Black Friday, right? Starting now, there are some big discounts on Forza Motorsport 5 Game of the Year Edition (as well as other Xbox games). These discounts will last until December 1 and you can read all about them over at Major Nelson’s blog.
In addition, the official Forza Motorsport merchandise store is offering a big discount on Forza-related merch, beginning on Thursday, Nov. 27. All Forza merchandise will be on sale for 40 percent off through Sunday, November 30. Head over to the Store to see what’s available and happy shopping!
#ForzaFriday à #ForzaThursday (this week only)
Because of the holidays, our regular #ForzaFriday livestream won’t be happening this week. Instead, Ian from the Community Team will be streaming from his home base in the U.K. (where they aren’t thankful for ANYTHING!) from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Pacific on our official Twitch channel. Thanks to Ian for stepping in with the stream and we’ll see you guys next week with our regular streaming schedule!
Forza Horizon 2 is Trusted Review’s GOTY
We were honored to learn this week that Forza Horizon 2 has been selected by Trusted Reviews as the site’s 2014 Game of the Year. The game won both the public vote and the internal editorial vote amidst some stellar competition. Thanks to the site and to everyone who voted for us!
That’s it folks! I hope you all enjoy our “Thanks a Million” events in Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Motorsport 5. I’m personally thankful to all of you for reading this edition and I hope you guys enjoy the holidays. See you next week!
