Forza Week in Review 11-17-17

So how are you liking #Forzathons in Forza Motorsport 7? It’s true, straight away they feel different from the events in Forza Horizon 3. As you might have seen in last Friday’s late-breaking update to the Week in Review, we fixed an issue with the “Welcome to Forza Motorsport 7” event, which was causing it to not properly track player progress through the series of events. With that working as intended, and some great rewards on-hand – including the Astronaut Modern Driver Gear and two cars – there’s plenty of good reasons to dive into this batch of events before they expire in just under a week.

Today in the Week in Review, we reveal the second (and third!) reward cars for our ongoing November Bounty Hunter event, provide an update on the VIP car and credits gifts, showcase the cars coming to the Forza 7 Specialty Dealer next week, and more. But first, we’ve got news on a trio of awesome Driver Gear suits arriving in Forza 7, featuring a theme that practically every Xbox fan will certainly know.

Gears For Gearheads

Did you know that the Gears of War franchise is celebrating its 11-year anniversary? That’s more than a decade of shooting, chainsaw-bayoneting, and blasting through hordes of Locust scum, and we’ve loved every minute of it. To help celebrate this milestone along with our friends at The Coalition, we’re bringing a little bit of that Gears love to Forza Motorsport 7, in the form of some brand new Gears-themed Driver Gear that you can earn now. Call it “Gears for Gearheads,” if you will.

Here’s what we’ve got on hand and how you can get it.

Gears of War 4 Racing Suit

This slick suit features the Gears of War 4 logo and is inspired by the armor worn by the likes of the COGs soldiers in the game. This suit will be sent to anyone who has played Gears of War 4 on Xbox One or Windows 10 before October 31, 2017. Eligible players will receive a code to download the suit via an Xbox Live Message on Xbox or Windows beginning on November 20. It may take up to two weeks to receive your code.

Haven’t played Gears 4 yet? Fear not! You can jump in via the Free Trial and play before December 31, 2017 to become eligible to receive a code for the Gears Driver Gear suit which will be sent beginning in mid-January.

JD and Kait Driver Gear

In addition to the Gears of War 4 suit, we also have two additional Driver Gear suits available for players in Forza Motorsport 7. These suits take the iconic COG Soldier Helmet and mash them together with the outfits based on the Gears of War 4 characters JD and Kait. They look great and, for optimal opponent intimidation, we recommend wearing these suits in an open-top vehicle; preferably during a blinding rainstorm at the Nürburgring!

So, how do you get them? Easy! We’ve got two new events opening today in Forza 7. Set a time in an event before the eligibility window closes on Sunday, November 26 at midnight Pacific and we’ll send you that event’s corresponding suit. Knock them both out and you’ll have both suits ready to rock. Here’s more detail on the events and where to find them:

Title: Pushing It To The Limit

Description: Like, totally get those fresh '80s cars tuned to the max to set an awesome time!

Note that players will not receive these suits immediately after setting a time. Instead, the JD and Kait suits will be sent out after the eligibility window closes for each Rivals event.

These great events go live today, so happy hot-lapping!

November Bounty Hunter Update

The November Bounty Hunter is going strong in Forza Motorsport 7. As we announced last week, this week’s target is Turn 10’s own Dan Greenawalt (GT: Nebuchadnezzar). Dan’s driving in his own car (the terrifyingly powerful 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R) on one of his favorite tracks, Laguna Seca. As of this writing, Dan’s time is a 1:39.186. This Bounty Hunter closes on November 26 at midnight Pacific, which means there’s plenty of time for you to set your best time. Keep in mind that everyone who sets a lap (fast or slow, clean or dirty!) will be receiving the 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe after the event is closed.

Earlier in the week we dropped our first Bounty Hunter Reward Car poll, allowing players to vote for the exclusive reward car for this event. After thousands of votes, the results are in: Players who beat Dan’s final posted time will win the 2016 W Motors Lykan HyperSport. It was a close race in the end, with the Ferrari Scaglietti and the Lykan running neck and neck the entire time. So close, in fact, that we’ve decided to also offer the Scaglietti to folks as a secondary reward. All players who score a clean lap under 1:40.000 will also be sent the Scaglietti once the event has closed. That’s a chance to win THREE amazing exclusive cars in one event!

One final note about the Bounty Hunter: Dan’s final lap time will be set no later than 5 p.m. Pacific on Friday, November 24.

Forza 7 VIP Bonus Update

November’s content update for Forza Motorsport 7 brought with it some changes to our Forza 7 VIP feature, most notably in the form of our 2X base rewards scalar for VIP. Even before that feature was implemented, however, we sent a gift of four cars and a credit bonus to Forza 7 VIPs. Starting on December 1, that four-car gift and the credit bonus will end for new VIPs. New Forza Motorsport 7 VIP members will still be able to enjoy the benefits of VIP membership in Forza 7, including that 2X base rewards bonus feature, five Forza Edition cars included with VIP membership, and more.

Specialty Dealer

Three new cars are up and ready for you in the Forza 7 Specialty Dealer and we’ve got a lot of bang for the buck here, starting with the cover car for Forza Motorsport 4, the 2009 Ferrari 458 Italia. If unadulterated British power is your thing, you’ll find no better example than the legendary 2005 TVR Sagaris. For the budget-conscious, the 2005 SUBARU Legacy B4 2.0 GT is there for the taking.

Next week, look for three new additions to the Specialty Dealer, including two Nissans – the Skyline H/T 2000 GT-R and the Silvia K’s, along with the Lancia Stratos HF Stradale. Take a look:

Heavy Metal Affliction – 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Sport Q4

Former Turn 10 car sourcer Fred Russell --Gamertag MO79396 – had a dream job travelling the world locating the most unique and awesome cars for Forza games. Believe it or not he went on to take an even more incredible job for a guy that loves cars. Russell has been a lifelong Alfa Romeo fan and is President of the NorthWest Alfa Romeo club so it follows that he would be one of the first to drive and later purchase the new Giulia.

This week’s Heavy Metal Affliction story talks about his love of Alfas, and the evolution of his car-loving career. And while his Gamertag might seem like a random set of numbers and letters, it’s quite significant. Can you figure out how it is relevant to his story? If you figure it out post in this week’s HMA thread on the Forza Forums.
