Forza Week in Review 9-1-17
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to September. The beginning of the month means that we’ve got just 28 more days – 4 weeks exactly, in fact – until the launch of early access for Forza Motorsport 7 Ultimate Edition owners. The rest of the world will be playing the game on October 3 but, around the halls of Turn 10, all eyes are on September 29, when fans will have their hands on the game for the first time.
There’s other exciting news out there for Forza fans: Starting today, Forza Motorsport 5 is officially available for free to Xbox Live Gold members as part September’s Games With Gold offer. Players who download FM5 will also receive the Top Gear Car Pack – featuring cars like the 1966 Chaparral #66 Chaparral Cars 2# and the 2013 Audi RS5 Avant – for no additional charge. In addition, this weekend only we’re featuring Forza Motorsport 6 as part of a Free Play Weekend on Xbox Live. Download the game and check out what makes Forza 6 such an incredible game for racing fans!
In today’s edition of the Week in Review we’re catching up with the final list of announced cars in Forza 7, taking a look at #Forzathon events in Forza Horizon 3, and more. Ready, set, go!
Forza Garage Week 7
This week in the Forza Garage we turned our attention to race cars and we revealed more than 100 race cars coming to Forza Motorsport 7 at launch. There’s plenty of highlights to go around, including brand new entries from some of the biggest racing series in the world like NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula E, and Formula 1, among others. Below you can see a shot of the 2017 Holden #22 Walkinshaw Performance VF Commodore, representing the Aussie V8 series, as well. In short, there’s a ton of pure racing performance here for Forza 7 players to enjoy.
The cars that have been revealed in the Forza Garage series represent the majority – but not all – of the 700+ cars that will available in the game at launch; as we mentioned in Week 6 of the Forza Garage series, there are a number of Forza Edition cars that have not been announced. The entire collection of cars will be available at launch, and players will be able to try out any car featured in the game via Free Play. In addition, as we discussed at Gamescom, there are lots of ways to earn cars in Forza Motorsport 7 – including buying them with credits as you normally would, purchasing them via the Specialty Vendor and the Auction House, or earning them through the Forza Driver’s Cup campaign, via level up rewards, as gifts for events like #Forzathons.
For a further breakdown of the types of cars found in Forza 7, check out the infographic we released earlier in the week:
September and October #Forzathons
We may be mere weeks away from the launch of Forza Motorsport 7 but that doesn’t mean we’re closing the door on Forza Horizon 3. Far from it, in fact! With that in mind, here’s a look at the #Forzathon events arriving in FH3 in September and October:
Here’s a closer look at this weekend’s #Forzathon events in FH3, kicking off today:
Heavy Metal Affliction - Hoonigan Twerkstallion
One look at the amazing spec list for the Hoonigan Twerkstallion will tell you, as will its owner Hert from the Donut Garage, this Mazda FC was “built to drift.” This week in Heavy Metal Affliction we talked with the creative mind behind the Daily Transmission shows from The Hoonigans.
As you read the interview you’ll get a look into Hert’s history with the Hoonigan brand, his cars and of course many of the details behind the Twerkstallion build. How much horsepower is the new turbo-charged rotary build pushing? What is Hert’s drifting style? And even a little about his lovable pitbull and garage dog Don-Pierre.
After several weeks away, it’s great to be back in the driver’s seat for another edition of #ForzaFriday. As always we’ll be kicking off the show on Mixer and Twitch starting at 3 p.m. Pacific. We’ll be playing both Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 6 and discussing Gamescom and more. Be there!
Finally, IndyCar star and friend of Forza Josef Newgarden is competing at this weekend’s race at Watkins Glen and will be posting exclusive behind-the-scenes photos on the official Forza Motorsport Instagram account. Be sure and give the account a follow to watch as Josef preps for the race!
