Forza Week in Review 10-27-17
Welcome to the Week in Review! This week we’re celebrating the release of the latest update for Forza Motorsport 7 which our new VIP reward feature, as well as spotlighting new Specialty Dealer cars coming to the game. In addition, we’re checking out the #Forzathon events in Forza Horizon, getting spooky with our annual Halloween Bash contest, and much more. Let’s go!
VIP Reward Update
Earlier today we released the latest update for Forza Motorsport 7. This update introduces a 2X base credit bonus after every race for Forza Motorsport 7 VIPs. In addition, this update addresses the following issues in the game:
· Fixed an issue where VIP cars and Driver Gear were unavailable offline.
· Fixed a memory leak issue where the game would become unresponsive or close unexpectedly for some PC players after upgrading cars or using the Livery Editor.
· Fixed an issue for PC players who were experiencing multiple repeated black-screen crashes at launch.
As always, you can keep up to date with the latest update notes by referring to our dedicated thread on the Forza Forums.
One other update-related note: Earlier this week we released a small update which corrects the name of the Hoonigan Car Pack title and its associated art. This change can be seen when pressing the Start button on the Forza Motorsport 7 icon on the Xbox One dash and selecting the “Manage Game” option.
Costume Prize Crates
This week we set three new prize crates live in Forza Motorsport 7. With Halloween just around the corner, we’ve introduced crates that offer a chance to win some great Driver Gear suits that fit right in with the costume season, including the Mummy, Day of the Dead Suit, Ghost, and Skeleton suits, among others. Here’s a breakdown of the new crates and what’s inside each:
Mummy Driver Gear Crate – If you want the Mummy Driver Gear, this is the crate for you. Chance to win the Mummy Driver Gear; also includes Car, Driver Gear, Mods, and Badges.
Super Lucky Driver Gear Crate – Super Rare or Legendary Driver Gear, guaranteed! Includes Car, Driver Gear, Mods and Badges.
Double Driver Gear Crate – Race off with two costume Driver Gear, guaranteed!
It’s “60s Week” in the Forza 7 Specialty Dealer, with three vehicles available for classic car lovers. The 1964 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport 409 leads things off and, for those with deep pockets, we’ve got the 1963 Ferrari 250LM (worth a whopping 2,965 Car Collector score points!). In last week’s edition of the Week in review, we said the VW Type 2 Deluxe van would be in Specialty Dealer but, after discovering an issue with the car not appearing correctly in the feature, we replaced it with another classic from the 1960s: the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona HEMI. The VW van will return to Specialty Dealer in the future.
Next week, we’ve got some performance-minded beasts coming to Specialty Dealer, including the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0, the Nissan Silvia K’s and the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. Here’s your chance to get your hands on three cars that won’t be available anywhere else for a while, so save your credits and happy dealing!
Our annual Halloween Bash celebration is happening right now and there’s still time for you to get involved! We’ve extended the deadline for entry to Halloween itself, October 31. In addition, we’re announcing the prizes that are up for grabs for everyone who takes part. Little Vixen has outdone herself this year, creating beautiful Halloween-themed liveries versions of four amazing cars, the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500, the 2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4-SV, the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR, and the 2009 Ford Focus RS. Note that the Focus is an exclusive car that you can’t find anywhere else in the game right now. In addition, everyone who enters will also receive the Clown Driver Gear suit – after all, it wouldn’t be Halloween without a spooky clown, right?
Taking part in the Bash is as simple as creating a livery, layer group or photo with a Halloween theme, sharing it in the game, and posting it to our dedicated thread. For all the rules on how to get involved with the Halloween Bash, check out the thread in the forums, where you can also find examples from Forza players who have already entered.
#Forzathon – We’re Counting On You
Want to grab a 1972 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3 and cruise it around Australia? Then get yourself to Forza Horizon 3 and be sure and take part in our weekend #Forzathon events. This week’s theme is “We’re Counting On You”, and Mercs are taking center stage. To grab that sweet early-70s SEL, all you need to do is get 3 Stars on the Mountain Top Danger Sign while driving a Mercedes-Benz car. In addition, there’s credits, XP, and wheelspins up for grabs, so don’t miss it.
The Ultimate Forza 7 Controller?
When it comes to controllers for Forza 7, everyone’s got their favorite. Some folks like to roll with their favorite wheel and pedal setup. Others like the Xbox Elite controller. But what happens when someone takes the custom controller thing to the ultimate extreme? Check out the driving rig of French Forza player POG, who turned his own real-life $400,000 Lamborghini Aventador into the ultimate Forza controller:
One note before I go: We’re less than two weeks away from the launch of Xbox One X and Forza Motorsport 7. Next week, we’ll be taking a look at how Forzathon and Auction House work in Forza Motorsport 7. In addition we have a number of new Rivals events going live next week as well, including a new VIP-only event, as well as a new no-assist Competitive Driver Training event, and more. See you then!
