Forza Week in Review 6-9-17

We’re one step closer to bringing the Ford GT home to Forza HQ. If you’ve been following our ongoing video series, you know that Turn 10 studio manager Alan Hartman is purchasing a new Ford GT, and we’ve been taking the Forza community along on the journey. In January we showed off the unboxing of the Ford GT order kit. Just a few weeks later, we took you behind the scenes where Alan got to see the various Ford GT options and make his order. This week, we unveiled the next chapter in the story.

Alan and Forza vehicle art director Gabe Garcia took a trip to the Ford Performance factory in Toronto, where the Ford GT is made. During their trip, they got a tour of the facility, learned about how Ford goes about hand-assembling their supercar masterpiece, and much more. Check it out:

So there you have it: The Ford GT that will be home in the lobby of Turn 10 (when Alan isn’t driving it, of course) will be the amazing Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition. The next step in the story is the delivery of the car, which everyone is eagerly awaiting. We don’t yet have the delivery date, but we can’t wait to ring in our new office space – yep, that’s right, Turn 10 is moving to a new space in just a couple of weeks! -- with this truly special car. Look for the next video in that series soon!

Now, on with another edition of the Week in Review!

#Forzathon – Horizon Cares

We’ve got a new Porsche available this weekend; all you need to do is complete three races in a European Sports Car to win the Porsche Cayman GTS. Here’s a look at the rest of the weekend’s fun:

As a reminder, next week we’ll have a week-long #Forzathon series – dubbed Celebrating the Forza Community – with cool stuff up for grabs in the game, including the Porsche 911 GT3. Don’t miss it!

Forza Horizon 3 – Hilux Issue

We are aware of an issue where a small number of Forza Horizon 3 players are unable to launch the game. This issue is related to a bug introduced with the latest update to the game. This bug affects two groups of players in slightly different ways:

1) Players who had been in a Toyota Arctic Hilux equipped with a drivetrain swap prior to Tuesday’s update are not able to launch the game.

2) Players who own the Hilux with the same swap upgrade but were “in” another car at the time of the update can launch the game but are not able to remove, select or do anything with the Hilux without crashing the game.

The team is busy working on a fix which we estimate will be rolled out at the end of next week at the earliest. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

FH3 Release Notes

Since the launch of Forza Horizon 3, Playground and Turn 10 have made numerous content updates (CU) to the game, both to introduce new content to the game (in the form of DLC) as well as to fix issues and improve performance.

Take a look at the Forza Forums to see the latest post from Nitro Glitter that details all of the updates so far for Forza Horizon 3, as well the issues the most recent (June) update addresses.

E3 officially kicks off on Tuesday and will go through Thursday of the week and, coming right after will be the biggest racing event of the year. Yeah, you know where I’m going with this…

ForzaRC Le Mans Finals

As of Saturday, it will be T-minus 7 days until the start of our Forza Racing Championship Season 3 Grand Finals, live from the 24 Hours of Le Mans! I’ll be on hand (along with a ton of other folks from Turn 10) to help make the magic happen on the show, which will feature qualifiers from all over the world, converging on Le Mans, all fighting for cash prizes and a chance to stand on the winners’ podium.

You won’t want to miss the action live from Le Mans. The action begins at 8 p.m. CET (that’s 11 a.m. Pacific) on Mixer and Twitch. I’ll be joined by our regular cast of broadcasters, including many of the awesome personalities you saw during the ForzaRC New York Invitational. Heavy Metal Affliction – 2016 Lotus 3-Eleven

The Mountain Dew Car Pack for Forza Horizon 3 brought seven new cars to bear this week. One of the most anticipated rides was the Lotus 3-Eleven, the fastest production Lotus ever built. Heavy Metal Affliction worked with the folks at Lotus Cars to deliver this historic and detailed story about what some refer to as a supercar killer. Check it out!

Final #ForzaFriday (For Now)

Remember at the top of today’s edition when I mentioned that Turn 10 is moving? That move is happening next weekend. We’ll be giving you all an official look at the new Forza digs once we’re settled but the big move does mean an interruption in our regular streaming schedule. In fact, today’s edition of #ForzaFriday will be our last regular weekly livestream for at least a week or two. With E3 and Le Mans happening next week, and the move following up a week later, all hands are on deck to make sure that everything goes flawlessly.

No Forza streams for a few weeks is the bad news. The good news is that, once we are back on our streaming feet, we’ll be doing so in a brand-new studio, one that’s bigger and better and wholly dedicated to Forza awesomeness. We can’t wait to show it off to you all!

So, let’s make the most of today’s edition of #ForzaFriday! We’ll be playing Forza Horizon 3 and getting a good amount of racing in Forza Motorsport 6 too. The show begins at 3 p.m. Pacific on Mixer and Twitch. Let’s send out the old Turn 10 HQ in style and get ready for all the great stuff to come! See you on the show!
